Every year for the last ten years, our group in collaboration with the Heiwa Foundation and the Umemi Foundation has held a tea offering and teicha (tea gathering for a large number of people) on International Peace Day. On the event site, the Służew Community Centre central Warsaw, a World Peace Bell and a Peace Pole have been installed making it ideal for the event. The guests range from Japanese delegates, members of government, the United Nations, university faculty, busloads of school children and everyone in between. The local group members of the Warsaw Sunshinkai Tankokai work hard every year to make sure this important event is continued. Over the years we have had the help of visiting friends from other groups from Poland, Hungary, Finland, USA, and Ukraine.

This year our friend Tatiana from Ukraine was able to attend. Inside the building, Ula and Tatiana used Ukrainian and Peace themed bowls to make simultaneous tea offerings for Peace. Later outside near the bell, which everyone is encouraged to ring for peace during the course of the day, tea was made for all those in attendance.

As always, a lovely day with an important theme. Join us again next time as we all strive for a more peaceful life, community and world.
